The HTC One X has already started making an impact all over Europe and now AT&T has just announced that the new HTC device will be available for pre-order.
The device will be shipped and will be physically available this May 6, 2012. The phone will be available for $199 for a two year contract under AT&T. This new phone sits comfortably just behind the line of first class smartphones while being a lot more than a mid-level phone or entry level phone.
The HTC One X will not be sporting the most powerful processor in the
market today, doing away with the Nvidia Tegra 3 that the international
HSPA version utilizes in favor of the “slightly left-behind” Qualcomm
Snapdragon S4 processor chip. It may not be the latest processor in the
market today but sportinga dual-core processor doesn’t mean it is not
capable of pushing your phone’s speed and power forward. Paired with the
dual core CPU is 1GB of RAM speed.
Do take note that the One X runs on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS
and utilizes HTC’s very own Sense 4 user interface. The phone will also
make use of LTE. The little problem for some people may be the storage.
While the international model will get 32GB of internal space the
AT&T model will only have 16GB of internal memory and will not have
any form of removable data. To compensate for this are several data
plans for cloud storage. How well that performs depends on the carrier,
the phone, and your location.
The really big pull that makes this phone so attractive is its Super
LCD 2 display. The new technology tosses the old AMOLED panel out the
window. The new display means there is less space between the panel and
the glass so you can literally see the colors the way they were meant to
be seen and you can use the phone even when under direct sunlight.
