Download Galaxy S3 add-on pack for the Galaxy Nexus

With all the hype about the Galaxy S3 these days, does it still pay to own the Google phone? Of course it does! Galaxy Nexus owners receive all OTA updates, have gratuitous amounts of developer support, and still own one of the more powerful Android devices to date.

Regardless of these facts, many owners are itching to taste some of that GS3 goodness, and we don’t blame them. The device and its software are simply epic. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the Galaxy Nexus’ developer community to provide loyal owners with a way to do it!

What is needed?

Now before I delve any deeper into this Galaxy Nexus transformation, it is important to say that owners will need a rooted device. If you don’t have a rooted Gnex, check out our simple guide on how to root the Galaxy Nexus here.

Once you’ve attained root, you will need to be running a Cyanogenmod 9-based ROM. This can be an official CM9 build, an AOKP build, and even a Liquidsmooth ROM. It is suggested that you are running the latest version of whatever ROM you chose.

Installation

Now that we’ve covered what is necessary, we can get into the greatness.

First, head over to XDA developers and grab this .zip file!

The .zip file contains the new Touchwiz launcher, wallpapers, GS3 apps, sounds, and everything else you will need. Simply move the .zip file to your Galaxy Nexus’ SD card, as if you were flashing a custom ROM, then in the same fashion, simply reboot into Clockworkmod Recovery and flash the .zip! Once you reboot, you will be enjoying the brand new look and functionality of your Galaxy Nexus.
