One of the biggest players in the smartphone market a couple of years
back, Motorola has dropped out of the spotlight lately and has only
made waves with the Razr Maxx’s humongous battery. However, Moto might
look to get back in the game soon, as there have been reports for a
while about a new high-end Razr HD coming to Verizon.
Yesterday, we spotted the Razr HD in a leaked Cellebrite
internal document going by the model number XT926, and now we have some
extra details about the phone. Furthermore, we have some bits of
information about other upcoming Motorola smartphones and, while they’re
far from official, they paint a good picture of what’s coming from
Google’s new subsidiary.
Motorola Vanquish/Razr HD

First
off, let’s talk about the Razr HD, who now has a new moniker. Known a
while back as the Droid Fighter, this big guy also seems to go by the
name of Vanquish (at least in the international version, from my
understanding). Both the Fighter and the Vanquish sound like pretty cool
names for a high-end phone, so here’s hoping that Motorola will not
brand this device as the Razr HD after all.
The Vanquish will be
made available in the States from Verizon, but it could also be sold in
the rest of the world, if we are to trust
Pocket-Now’s
sources. Its model number is XT926 for the US, XT922 and XT980 for
China, and XT923 and XT925 for the rest of the world, in UMTS and LTE
versions respectively.
As for its tech specs and features, the
Vanquish (or Razr HD or whatever) will most likely come with a 1280 x
720 pixels resolution display and be powered by a dual-core S4 Krait
processor
Motorola Asanti
The
Asanti is the second Motorola phone to be released soon and will be made
available from AT&T in the US. Codenamed XT898, the Asanti will
itself enjoy a worldwide release, with model numbers XT897 and XT896
used outside US. Featuring 4G LTE connectivity, like the Vanquish, the
Asanti will most likely come with a more modest display (a qHD at 960 x
540 pixels resolution) and a full QWERTY keyboard.
Motorola Dinara
Next up,
we have the Dinara, or the MB866, a probable successor to the Droid
Bionic, set to come with LTE, a 13 MP rear-facing camera, a dual-core
processor, and a 4.3-inch screen. We don’t know when this device is
supposed to be released, but we’re almost sure that it will be an
AT&T exclusive.
Motorola Primus and Motorola Yangtze/Razr V
The
Primus XT621 and the Yangtze XT881/XT885/XT886/XT889/MT887 are a couple
of other Moto phones expected to come in 2012, but there are even less
details available. In fact, the Primus is completely wrapped in mystery,
while the Yangtze could be the Razr V, already unveiled in China with a
 4.3-inch qHD display, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, and an 8 MP
camera.
Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

Finally,
we’ve been knowing for a while that Sprint will come with a rehashed
version of the Photon 4G, which currently goes by the (preliminary) name
of Photon Q 4G LTE. We don’t know much about this device’s features and
 specs.
