You can now make your book, music and app purchases from any of your
devices automatically download to the other devices you want them on
regardless of when and where you make the purchases and whether you've
been able to sync in the meantime. Turn automatic downloads on for books
across your devices, for instance, and you can be sure the book you're
reading on your iPad will be on your iPhone when you're waiting at the
doctor's office, open to where you left off. Likewise the music you
bought on your laptop and want to play for a friend from your iPhone or
iPod touch. To turn on the automatic downloads you want on each of your
iOS devices, go to the Store section of the Settings app. On your
computer, select the Store tab in iTunes Preferences in the File menu.
Syncing your devices with your computer can also be streamlined so that
the syncing happens automatically when you plug them in to charge while
they're on the same WiFi network as your computer, even if you don't
connect them to the computer itself. To turn on the feature on your
devices, select iTunes Wi-Fi Sync under General in the Settings app. And
the next time you sync via a wired connection, select the device in the
left-hand column of iTunes and check "Sync with this (device_name) over
Wi-Fi" in the options section.
